NIGHTLIFE “The Prequel” Pt. 2 The Life Of The Party

Remember the first official club you went to that was popping? Or for those who do parties the first official party you & your team did? Before the wash out effect wasn’t it fun? Seeing so many people all come out to enjoy whatever songs are hot at the moment, or seeing everyone come out to something you & your crew put together! But where did we go wrong? The innocence of the beginning never quite equals the end results…

Before nightlife politics occurred & familiar faces become “go that-a-way faces” its all good, only to be followed by the all bad. We are now flooded by promoters, good & bad, party goers, who want free entry, a pour from your bottle & a “free” ride home.

Being important in nightlife is the peak of some people lives, created company names, a sense of being a boss & those party folk who truly believe that parties change. 

Ever heard “oh no they bring out a ghetto crowd, or the hood, im not going there” only to see them at another hood party? People say things to make their self feel of importance. No matter where the party is or what the dress code is the hood will and IS coming, ever wondered why it’s called “urban” nightlife, the only thing that determines how much of the hood is coming is the promoters buzz or lack thereof & location.

All parties eventually end up being the same party in the urban market, we would love to think we are different and bringing sexy back but does it matter? Are we really the life of the party? So when did you become hot & decided you were the life of the party?

NIGHTLIFE “The Prequel” Pt. 1 Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

Yes! There she is! The girl who outfits changes but somehow remains the same! She comes to the club every so often looking for her come up or the go down! Of course she won’t tell you that but she is looking for high end credit cards & foreign wheels. Doesn’t she realize she looks a hot mess? What distorts her self image is no matter how a female dresses, acts or talks there will always be 100 guys on her back, especially if she’s “half way” decent, leading many of these females to truly believe they are the S•H•I•T.

Ever tried to talk sense into, or convince one of these girls like “yo your bugging!” What’s her response? She tells you ‘you’re buggin’ She believes since its working she is popping. Every club chick has a run, you are not doing anything new by having your titties out & giving 7days, alltheparties or clubsrus the “ass” or “titties” shot.

She goes through all this only to realize months or years later that the real world is happening & waking up from a great night of sexual adventures has gotten her ass washed up or tainted. Many guys do not or will not have a problem with loving or getting involved with a former club chick. But why chance it? Be a lady from jump & a freak behind closed doors. What will it hurt? Why be a hot mess in the club only to go home with him & be back in the club soon looking for a new boo? We all just wanna have fun but what does it hurt to have fun with one person? Nothing wrong with “doing you” but have some discretion or better sense of taste! With guys its not how many you’ve been with its who you’ve been with! So let’s have fun!

NIGHTLIFE PT. 7 (Destroy & Rebuild)

 Nightlife is a gift & a curse; we all have lost & gained so much from the life. We’ve met good people, some bad people & just flat out horrible people. With everything good comes the bad, meeting good contacts & networking, having the life work for you.

 We’ve gone from throwing parties to believing we are changing the game and making this world a better place for you & for me. When the music stops and the lights come on what do you have in place for that “secondary” income? Have you really made enough off doing parties that your family is set? NO, so stop pretending you’re getting that money when we all know your money is funny. Promoters would love for you to believe that they are living the American dream, people attending the party would love for you to believe they are any different than him and/or her, even the people who pretend to be different would really love for you to really believe that they are different, we are all the same just choosing to live different lives.

 We all follow the same formula, bring out the same crowds (well mostly), ladies free before this & that, with the “ever” so present “mandatory rsvp” like it matters, stating the dress coder, telling people “early arrival highly suggested” leading the crowd to still come when they want. Nightlife is like having a case of bad déjà vu the only thing changing is the venue and the flyer.

 Mainstream parties are successful because they do everything we don’t do. No one is trying to out stunt one another on their scene, groups of people in mainstream parties are called an ‘entourage’ and they follow all the rules to get “taken care of.” In the urban scene a group of people are ya ‘crew’ who come exactly when you said not too doing everything you said not to do, then come to give orders, disregarding the dress code but “oh yes” their doing bottles so of course they can get in.

 New ideas & a new formula need to drop down on the urban nightlife market. Will it happen? No, even after reading all this, do you care? Nope, because party goers mostly only care about the “free” tree.

Started as a business now moonlighting as a way to get hot and hopefully get some snatch, it’s the new get rich, get famous quick, or pretend to be scheme

NIGHTLIFE PT. 6 (Night Life “OR” Love Life)

To Party or Not To Party? That really is the question! Love & Nightlife DO NOT go together, so let’s stop pretending you & your boo will change the game by proving this fact wrong, you can’t, you will not, so stop it! Over time love will not endure the party scene, it will not over power the allure of a room of ass & titties, or in a female eyes a room full of potential.

Nightlife will win every time, in most cases one lover is more into the life than the other, leading too many nights spent alone. Nightlife can & will end a seemingly happy relationship, you coming in at 4am will not sit well with a mate sitting around with idle thoughts. A absent lover added by time to think equals heartbreak.

Not every relationship will get affected by the ‘scene’ but when does your “side relationship” to nightlife end? There are exceptions to every thing in life and perhaps love can win, but over time we all will have to make a choice of love or the party. Which one will you choose?

NIGHTLIFE PT. 5 (The Your A Promoter, RELAX!!!)

Business is Business, and there is little business about nightlife. Many of our urban promoters could not operate and run a successful business, we would all love to believe that “promoters” are about they business but let’s be serious, it’s just a party. You do not need any sort of business sense to operate.

We are not as important as we ALL think we are. How can we ALL be at the top of a mountain with no peak? We don’t own the club, how are we winning? Where’s your 401k? Does the club owner sign you a check? Or does he hands you cash pat you on the back and wave your ass goodbye?

We need to destroy the former way of thinking to set up and build for a new way. You’re not doing anything groundbreaking by doing a party, it will not be a night to remember, it is not going down and the promoter is not getting rich of the party, so Relax!

Many promoters have regular lives away from the party, it’s very easy to seem important in nightlife, but most of them have lunch breaks and must ask someone can they go to lunch, only to come to the club and “play” the role of a boss.

You are not a C.E.O, you are not a BOSS or the H.N.I.C, there are no stockbrokers, no board of directors so what are you the C.E.O of? Your company, team or “ent.” group is not a registered business; you are not trademarked, your logo isn’t copy written so what are you? You’re just a regular person trying to hustle to get a little extra. We all can respect that, so let’s destroy our mind set and rebuild “TOGETHER” relax.

NIGHTLIFE PT 4 ED II (The Death of Nightlife) [Bottle Service Please!!!]

Nightlife has all together lost its allure, with staples of the former nightlife being replaced wit new-comers and the “common place” chicks becoming housewives & The “I knew you would be here” crowd fading to black, what has happened to the Life?

Many things factor into the decline of nightly entertainment but how did it become such a crime to splurge in abundance OR Lack Thereof. With the recent increase of processed money & scams, do people who pop bottles really believe that “WE” believe they are getting it? Straight getting it? And that the rest of us are talking about it but ain’t living it?

Groups draped in jewelry & designer clothes, not meeting the dress code at all love to show up at whatever time and head to the front just to say that famous “look at me” quote “we doing bottle service.”

Because of bottle service rules to of the party DO NOT apply, you can come whenever, dressed in whatever just to pop a bottle. Promoters love to say “early arrival highly suggested” but do the people listen? Or care?

From 11pm-12am most often you couldn’t tell a party was going on, the club is damn near empty. Where is the crowd? Exactly att 12am phones start vibrating, the text messages pour in, the BBM’s, the emails and the worst of all “THE BOTTLE POPPERS” come who believe that the party revolves around them.

Years ago coming early meant coming early, people believe that you can EZ-pass them through the line just ‘cause they are “outside.” Nightlife can go a lot smoother if everyone played right. STOP going to the front of the line, ignoring the dress code just ‘cause you and 40 dudes are popping 4 bottles, stop smoking the club out then wonder why chicks ain’t messing with you.

Bottle service was set in place as a extra tool to make money in the club, not for you to fall in love with yourself, the sparkles coming out the bottles headed to your area makes a common fool feel cool. Mixed crowds/white crowds rarely do bottle service and when they do, it’s done right, they come at an appropriate time and always meet the dress code, so why can’t we? Blame it on the ac-ac-ac-alcohol I guess.

NIGHTLIFE PT 4 (The Death of Nightlife)

 As the “urban” market for parties grows slimmer & ignorance is at an all time high, we all try to figure out what is going on in this thing called “Nightlife.” Those of us that contribute to it whether it is a promoter, dj or anything of the sort sometime wonder why get involved in this form of marketing?

Most just wanna be known not having any business sense or business involvement, just a sense of hoping that the “bad” shorty you want see you getting people in the party or hopefully she’ll hear the DJ saying your name and/or team throughout the party. Years ago fooling the public with the notion that, your the promoter so you MUST be getting paid off this game was all too real, only to have learned that most promoters are secretly SUB-Promoters, the club owner being the only REAL one profiting off you busting your ass telling people about “YOUR” party.

Promoters then have to deal with the 90% of the nightlife who don’t seem to understand the business or really give a shit that it is a business. frequent calls and text asking for you to come get them from outside. Yes, you’re outside but so are 500 other people! Your “Promoter” friend invited you so they expect for you to come. Obviously it’s crowded for what? Because it’s POPPPING! Now wait in line!

Party Night people you forgot had your number call with that famous saying “I’m outside.” Promoters get into this business to make money not to get you in for free, because at the end of the night if the bills ain’t paid do people care?

Females contribute many fatal blows to the scene with the idea of being pampered & catered too, which they should be but some take it above and beyond, talking to you like the party is theirs “yea ima come to the party but I’m not paying.” A Promoter who wants to get hot will say ‘ok I got you’ but a real business promoter will say “OK then your not partying, GOODBYE!”

The female “Independence” revolution begins and ends with just that saying, females wanna be independent EXCEPT when its time to pay for a party then wonder why promoters usually dog them out. “She Got Her Own” is not just a song it’s a level of respect. Do right by yourself and others will do right by you.

The night could go so much smoother if we all played by the rules, violence mixed with ego’s and the hood creates a very tense situation. So how can we continue to party, if the people promoters do it for seem to not care or want it?

NIGHTLIFE PT. 3 (HEY!!!! IMA PROMOTOR EDITION)

 Is the whole world a fiesta? Does every other friend you Have Throw parties? Tired of Hearing “Yo come to my party?” Yes, of course, their are those who understand what it is followed by a small group who seem to understand watched by a large group of those who have no clue. Throwing parties and being a promoter are two different things most often getting tossed into the same bag. 9 out of 10 of your “favorite” promoters couldn’t throw a party if they life depended on it, don’t believe me? Really? Think about it!? Does your favorite promoter ever actually have a spot rocking or will the spot rock whether their involved or not?

The rule of thumb to whether a crew or team is hot is if they can throw a party just with they team, no frills, no club backing them, no “celebrity” host, just straight party. Most of your favorites can’t so don’t be fooled into believing these people are what nightlife is about. Nightlife is the 13th grade and just like high school there are clicks, there are those whom are humble and those who every chance they get will tell you there #1 rather than to have you realize it.

Certain Hustles ain’t for everyone, the more involved the more over-saturated it gets.

 Most promoters come into the game to “get hot” and make a name for their self so people will “need” them, respect is granted for more but any and everybody is a “somebody” at the club, removing that velvet rope so you and yours can get in is the highlight for most promoters.

Outside the club most promoters probably have no say in anything; the promoter game is the ultimate gaffle so don’t come in the game thirsty for a name.

NIGHTLIFE PT. 2 (THE FLASHING LIGHTS EFFECT)

Ever fall in love in the club? Ever been fooled into thinking he/she is the best thing since the air conditioner? YES, we all have and for those who indulge in the nightlife know those flashing lights will make the lamest of lames cooler than a ice cube in the snow when in all actuality they as cool as a popsicle on the sun. The club was and never will be the place to meet a person, high priced drinks accompanied by a rocking spot usually makes anyone who is in with the in crowd look like he got it and you want it. Outside the club 90% of the in-crowd ain’t got a pot to piss in and a window to throw it out of, nothing wrong with grinding and trying to make it happen, but don’t “academy award” your situation and make the chick or dude in the club believe your getting it.

 The nightlife has become one great scene of who’s who, seemingly we are all major figures in our circle, with so many great movements and teams in the nightlife surrounded by so many ‘not-so’ great movements and teams its hard to see who’s who, who ain’t and who will never be and with all the non sense we are all looked at as fronters and liars under those flashing lights.

NIGHTLIFE PT. 1 (THE NEW VERSION OF HIGH SCHOOL)

Nightlife, seen differently in many eyes, for some its a celebration bitches, for others its a room full of people to network with ((because do remember::: in life it ain’t ya net worth its your network)) and for others its just somewhere to BE, perhaps its none of the above but we all have motives as to why we go out, why we party and why we believe that the party doesn’t go on without us.

The nightlife is a rush most often just like a drug it wears off fast and just like a dope fiend we strive to continue to look for that high for that rush, never quite finding it like that first time. Nightlife doesn’t need you nor does it need me, it will continue to go with or without us, now perhaps there are those who contribute to the nightlife and the rest who seem to THINK they do.

People walk through the game blindly and truly believe that the PROMOTOR of the party is your friend? This is a business and in the business of people the GAFFLE game is out, fake smiles and handshakes followed by fake promises as if we are all doing each other a favor by speaking. Urban nightlife is the 13th grade, clicked up and ran just like a stereotypical movie version of a high school. Real recognize real and 80% of nightlife is really unreal.
