NIGHTLIFE “The Prequel” Pt. 7 The Museum

NIGHTLIFE “The Prequel” Pt. 7 The Museum

The nightlife seems like the scene to be on, right? Every big event we all pack in, every team, all the sexy ladies, just about everybody there, everybody fly, some more so than others, everybody came to have a good time, right? But when we go out, do we really have a good time? Are we really creating memories that are worth being remembered? We came to get drunk, we don’t give a fuck about no sparkles or any other bullshit. We all wanna stand on couches with our crew screaming, “fuck the other side they jealous!” We just wanna rock out! But do we?

Like a scene straight out of Michael Jackson’s “Beat It” we stand & watch each other with poker faces, hoping the group on the other side bust out into dance before we do. Nightlife has changed; we come out fresh to death to stand around looking at each other, just a gallery of people, a museum of what used to be popping looks like.

The vibe of a party is not the same, no matter what is made “MANDATORY” people still get in & come with whatever. All white parties turned into all anything parties, mandatory coat check turned into optional coat check, you come in your best outfit only to have a group of dudes stand around with winter coats on.

We no longer come to party, people just come to look at who’s out, what they have on & to just be on the scene. Nightlife has become a place to pass time & maybe/hopefully get a joint or two. But real fun has been missing for a while but where the fuck did it go?

NIGHTLIFE “The Prequel” Pt. 6 The Ego Has Landed Edition II (The That’s Not Me Disease)

NIGHTLIFE “The Prequel” Pt. 6 The Ego Has Landed Edition II (The that’s Not Me Disease)

We all been partying 5+ years & somehow all the parties are the same. Many times people say & do things to attempt to be different only ending up to be the same. The reason “mainstream” parties seem different is because it is different, there are different types of people there, a lot more violence & drug use in “white” parties than in “black” parties yet many will go there over a urban party? More has happened at a “mainstream” party than “urban.”

People who say “oh no I’m not going to that party it be too ghetto” are always people who reside in the hood. The “that’s not me disease” runs wild in our culture, rather than help to provide a solution many shoot down attempts to be different, even when you create a new lane people don’t wanna ride in it. Many “urban” promoters provide upscale events but do we care? The lack of support makes many question why change the formula? People don’t appreciate our upscale events because of ignorance of that famous saying “oh they just tryna b white”

Females are public enemy #1 of this epidemic. Every female promotes independence, but oh no not to pay $20 for a party, I meant independent in paying for myself but not for paying for myself for a party. Never mind your bills or the business of doing parties. She wants to get in free. A females “good time” is determined by if she had to pay or not. Ever see your homegirl in a party & before the party even pops off she’s complaining? Why? Most likely because she had to pay. A female’s ego is CRUSHED when she has to pay. Most females believe paying for a party & looking good don’t go.

There is no such thing as a ghetto party, the hood can & will get into any venue given the right circumstance. If you truly believe when you go to a “white” party that it isn’t any “hood” in their you need to take your ass home & read a book. The only problem with a hood party is potential violence but isn’t controlling the crowd security job? Not the promoters.

Be careful of the words you choose to differentiate yourself from the pack because saying “that’s not me” makes whatever it is your saying “just you.”

STOP THE IGNORANCE.

NIGHTLIFE “The Prequel” Pt. 6 The Ego Has Landed

NIGHTLIFE “The Prequel” Pt. 6 The Ego Has Landed

*Warning Will Touch Some Nerves & Confuse Some People.

Ladies free before 12 Gents reduced, early arrival highly suggested, if your not here Kill yourself, jump off the building, out the window, it will be a movie, a Zoo, a night to remember, blah blah blah…Even after hearing all this do people listen? Ladies come at 1am to argue about before 12am, Dudes show up whenever & stand everywhere but on the line, you get 400 calls asking “well what’s early,” just like at an actual movie theater black folks usually ruin the movie, they show up to act like animals in a “zoo” & the day after you wish you didn’t remember anything about that night.

The rules are set in place in order for EVERYONE to get in, but no one cares about EVERYONE, we only care about “Me” getting in.

You don’t need to come to the front & tell us who you know, we don’t care, don’t wanna hear it nor will it help you get anywhere any faster. If who you know isn’t on the contract get your ass on line. You standing in front prevents any movement from moving. Rather than stand on line for 5 minutes you crowd the front for an hour? Something doesn’t add up & you don’t have to be good in math to solve that equation.

Many dudes ego & the sudden curse of the cool make it egotistically hard for them to stand on line. It simply doesn’t go with their outfit nor does it matches the lifestyle they portray to stand online. You’re not a boss if you don’t have employees. Even so, bosses don’t stand on line nor do they crowd the front, they send representatives, flunkies or goons to talk that talk, so your not looking BOSS’d up by not standing on line with the “common folk.”

Ladies, how are you an independent women EVERYWHERE else EXCEPT at the cashier, all independence flies out the window when it’s time to pay for a party? Whether you choose to care or not, throwing a party cost money before one dollar made, so your “well I don’t pay for parties” speech serves no one any purpose, if this is a business let it be just that, you don’t go in Gucci & say “well I don’t pay for purses” so why show up to the venue & say this?

We MUST support each other, these promoters are out here trying to make money, bring us QUALITY events, so support them by paying that “small” fee. There are more than enough promoters’s who do parties looking for fame & popularity by not charging so go party with them.

Realize the difference between a promoter & the business of promoting.

We must get over our own ego’s, there is nothing wrong with coming to a party early, standing online is cool, saying who you know is not, name dropping means nothing, these promoter’s are here to make money not to be your friend so leave that explaining yourself at home & just come to party.

NIGHTLIFE “The Prequel” Pt. 5 If It Ain’t Broke Should You Fix It?

NIGHTLIFE “The Prequel” Pt. 5 If It Ain’t Broke Should You Fix It?

Who are promoters promoting for? The definition of promote is to market a event and/or service to the people but somehow promoters have gotten the game mixed up, f**ked up & all together messed it up. The art of promoting is essentially a marketing factor, in the big time marketing world every so often they take a poll and/or survey to what works vs. what doesn’t work vs. ultimately what isn’t a factor in picking that product of brand.

Do Promoters care what you want?

The good part about promoting is networking, but how many actually do such a thing? How many actually know what this means? The weirdest thing about life is everything you want is within reach, its people we speak to everyday not realizing they have the connect to what we may need, thus, the phrase network. The bad part about promoting is every promoter, good or bad, thinks they are smashing the game with their weak formula that usually entails the exact same format as their competition.

Do you know what your promoter friends do outside the club? Shouldn’t what we do away from the nightlife scene be more promoted than the party?

Your Crowd, NYC & your competition are always watching you. Many have attempted to try new things, some succeeded some failed miserable, but the use of feel good words such as clientele or your market are lame. Let’s build from the ground up & make the scene even better than it was a few years back. We ALL feel our self from time to time but when is it time to realize its time for a change?

Stop Promoting To Yourself.

NIGHTLIFE “The Prequel” Pt. 4 Ed. 2 Promoters DON’T Want You Yo Know

NIGHTLIFE “The Prequel” Pt. 4 Ed. 2 Promoters DON’T Want You Yo Know

Tonight it’s going down. The craziest party of the year! So many celebrities confirmed! This, that and a bunch of who the hell cares! When did a celebrity make the party? We see them in videos, magazines, TV, the red carpet but why do I need, want or have to see them in person? We know their most often getting paid for coming or hopefully the promoter knows the A&R to set up that walk through, so why would it matter?

Promoters are not friends with the celebrities they bring out, the promoter doesn’t hang out with them, ain’t in the studio with them. How did the celebrity host become more relevant than the party? When did who was celebrity hosting become more significant than the people coming out?

When celebs come out they are not partying with the general population. They are not handing out free gifts, they probably don’t even wanna be there.

The formula used by so many is a formula failed but why do we still use it?

To Be Continued…

NIGHTLIFE “The Prequel” Pt. 4 Edition 1 What promoters DON’T Want You To Know

NIGHTLIFE “The Prequel” Pt. 4 Edition 1 What promoters DON’T Want You To Know

Would you party with a loser? Or someone who society presumes as being such? A promoter would not want you to know he/she is most likely broke. Most promoters live very different lives outside the club. Some even have regular jobs where they have no nightlife authority, some have even fooled they self so well as to think they don’t need a job. Scary thought isn’t it?

Most Promoters have no friends, just the facade & the illusion of their crowd. Promoters need you, us & them more than we need them.! We all live our life with somewhat of a smokescreen up, but when does that line get crossed from an image or yourself to flat out fronting or Lying?

They don’t want website blast they NEED them. Promoters gain popularity off the hopes that you’ve heard of these popular party websites in hopes of you seeing their name on the blast. Promoting a party is a marketing job, unfortunately most promoters would fail marketing, and they use their party as a way to feel special.

Most cannot live without you; promoters are not hustlers, they will not survive the grind. They can not turn 20 into 40 or make a profit from a lose. Promoters get razzled very easily & a true hustler sees opportunity in everything. Promoters NEED, WANT & HOPE your birthday is this month so you can come to their party with your “own” crowd of people and/or friends, thus, making them look hot.

Promoters name their parties lavish names hoping you will believe they living like that. Rather than operating like a business promoters have turned the scene into a social club, the high school lunch room, sad part is most promoters probably weren’t among this crowd in high school.

Doing bottle service? F*** the dress code! Know the “promoter”? Sure come at whatever time! What promoters don’t want you to know is that they are not important; promoters need to feel important only for you to be willing to come out to their party. When people look back at history there is NO “what promoter was hot” section so what difference does it make?

NIGHTLIFE “The Prequel” Pt. 3 Monkey See, Monkey Do

NIGHTLIFE “The Prequel” Pt. 3 Monkey See, Monkey Do

Nightlife is an ungoverned industry, it’s full of those who succeed, those who are just getting by & those who fail but keep on trying. Everyday, Every time we sign onto a social network we are forced to look at flyers, people you never spoke to nor would ever hang out with post a million flyers on your page, run up to u in a club and shove it in your face.

We all would love to believe that we are actually killing it in the nightlife market but many are still missing the point. Whether your team promotes or not it’s up to your crowd to come, unless you have 600 “personal” relationships with everyone in the club no one cares who you are, people are not watching you walk by like that’s “so & so” of “who gives a shit entertainment.” I’m more interested in knowing what you do outside the club to further my personal growth.

People come out to hot parties to only get a light bulb in there head “maybe I can do parties, wait, YES I can” thus the creation of yet another random team.

Just because you know a lot of people does not mean you can enter the promo game.  Just because something can be done should we do it? Jumping off the building can be done but would you do that? No. So why must we be forced to see 200 flyers a day by people we would never hang with? Because Monkey sees, Monkey does.

NIGHTLIFE “The Prequel” Pt. 2 The Life Of The Party

NIGHTLIFE “The Prequel” Pt. 2 The Life Of The Party

Remember the first official club you went to that was popping? Or for those who do parties the first official party you & your team did? Before the wash out effect wasn’t it fun? Seeing so many people all come out to enjoy whatever songs are hot at the moment, or seeing everyone come out to something you & your crew put together! But where did we go wrong? The innocence of the beginning never quite equals the end results…

Before nightlife politics occurred & familiar faces become “go that-a-way faces” its all good, only to be followed by the all bad. We are now flooded by promoters, good & bad, party goers, who want free entry, a pour from your bottle & a “free” ride home.

Being important in nightlife is the peak of some people lives, created company names, a sense of being a boss & those party folk who truly believe that parties change.

Ever heard “oh no they bring out a ghetto crowd, or the hood, im not going there” only to see them at another hood party? People say things to make their self feel of importance. No matter where the party is or what the dress code is the hood will and IS coming, ever wondered why it’s called “urban” nightlife, the only thing that determines how much of the hood is coming is the promoters buzz or lack thereof & location.

All parties eventually end up being the same party in the urban market, we would love to think we are different and bringing sexy back but does it matter? Are we really the life of the party? So when did you become hot & decided you were the life of the party?

NIGHTLIFE “The Prequel” Pt. 1 Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

NIGHTLIFE “The Prequel” Pt. 1 Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

Yes! There she is! The girl who outfits changes but somehow remains the same! She comes to the club every so often looking for her come up or the go down! Of course she won’t tell you that but she is looking for high end credit cards & foreign wheels. Doesn’t she realize she looks a hot mess? What distorts her self image is no matter how a female dresses, acts or talks there will always be 100 guys on her back, especially if she’s “half way” decent, leading many of these females to truly believe they are the S•H•I•T.

Ever tried to talk sense into, or convince one of these girls like “yo your bugging!” What’s her response? She tells you ‘you’re buggin’ She believes since its working she is popping. Every club chick has a run, you are not doing anything new by having your titties out & giving 7days, alltheparties or clubsrus the “ass” or “titties” shot.

She goes through all this only to realize months or years later that the real world is happening & waking up from a great night of sexual adventures has gotten her ass washed up or tainted. Many guys do not or will not have a problem with loving or getting involved with a former club chick. But why chance it? Be a lady from jump & a freak behind closed doors. What will it hurt? Why be a hot mess in the club only to go home with him & be back in the club soon looking for a new boo? We all just wanna have fun but what does it hurt to have fun with one person? Nothing wrong with “doing you” but have some discretion or better sense of taste! With guys its not how many you’ve been with its who you’ve been with! So let’s have fun!

NIGHTLIFE PT. 7 (Destroy & Rebuild)

NIGHTLIFE PT. 7 (Destroy & Rebuild)

Nightlife is a gift & a curse; we all have lost & gained so much from the life. We’ve met good people, some bad people & just flat out horrible people. With everything good comes the bad, meeting good contacts & networking, having the life work for you.

We’ve gone from throwing parties to believing we are changing the game and making this world a better place for you & for me. When the music stops and the lights come on what do you have in place for that “secondary” income? Have you really made enough off doing parties that your family is set? NO, so stop pretending you’re getting that money when we all know your money is funny. Promoters would love for you to believe that they are living the American dream, people attending the party would love for you to believe they are any different than him and/or her, even the people who pretend to be different would really love for you to really believe that they are different, we are all the same just choosing to live different lives.

We all follow the same formula, bring out the same crowds (well mostly), ladies free before this & that, with the “ever” so present “mandatory rsvp” like it matters, stating the dress coder, telling people “early arrival highly suggested” leading the crowd to still come when they want. Nightlife is like having a case of bad déjà vu the only thing changing is the venue and the flyer.

Mainstream parties are successful because they do everything we don’t do. No one is trying to out stunt one another on their scene, groups of people in mainstream parties are called an ‘entourage’ and they follow all the rules to get “taken care of.” In the urban scene a group of people are ya ‘crew’ who come exactly when you said not too doing everything you said not to do, then come to give orders, disregarding the dress code but “oh yes” their doing bottles so of course they can get in.

New ideas & a new formula need to drop down on the urban nightlife market. Will it happen? No, even after reading all this, do you care? Nope, because party goers mostly only care about the “free” tree.

Started as a business now moonlighting as a way to get hot and hopefully get some snatch, it’s the new get rich, get famous quick, or pretend to be scheme
